Olen Eesti artist, kes keskendub peamiselt improvisatsioonilisele muusikale Eesti muusikamaastikul. Minu põhipillid on kontrabass ja elektribass. Lisaks on mul suur kiindumus muusika komponeerimise vastu.

Júlia Karosi on Ungari üks parimaid džässvokaliste. Hidden Roots (välja antud 2014. aasta märtsis Dot Time Recordsi poolt New Yorgis) oli tema teine CD bändijuhina ja järg edukale albumile Stroller of the City Streets (välja antud 2012. aasta veebruaris, väljaandja Whereabouts Records, Jaapan).

Her second CD as a bandleader, “Hidden Roots” (released in March 2014 by Dot Time Records, New York), followed the success of her debut album, “Stroller of the City Streets” (released in February 2012 by Whereabouts Records, Japan). “Hidden Roots” features Júlia’s original compositions and arrangements of Hungarian folk songs, as the title suggests.
Júlia’s background in classical singing is evident not only in her impeccable technique and expressive tonality but also in her choice of repertoire and musical universe. Alongside her original works, she eagerly selects folk songs and pieces by composers such as Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály, George Gershwin, and Stephen Sondheim, always highlighting her personal creations expressed through jazz.
Her latest album, “Without Dimensions” (released in October 2020 by Double Moon & Challenge Records), features Júlia and guitarist Ben Monder exploring the works of Bartók and Kodály in a contemporary jazz setting. This album, half original music and half arrangements of Bartók/Kodály compositions, represents an exceptional exploration and preservation of Hungarian heritage.
