Born in Michalovce, Slovakia, Jan ended up running one of the major independent jazz, improvised, and contemporary music labels called Hevhetia. Since its foundation in 2014, he has published 270 titles of music media (CDs, DVDs, LPs) and books, distributing them in more than 20 countries worldwide (Europe, Asia, America). Apart from his love for music and promoting it, Jan has contributed to the development of the cultural life of his native Slovakia. From 2011 to 2014, he held the office of the executive and managing director of Košice, European Capital of Culture 2013. This massive task brought him a great deal of experience in organizing and running major European cultural events. Alongside his work as an organizer of cultural activities, Jan Sudzina has brought his HevHet Fest to a number of European cities, including Paris, London, and Budapest. His expertise also extends to three years of publishing the magazine HUDBA. He is a marathon runner and a member of the team organizing the famous Kosice marathon, the second-biggest event of its kind in the world. A Slovak thinking big!
