Amro Salah

Pianist, composer, producer, event organizer, born in Cairo, Egypt in 1972, discovered his love for music at the age of six, under the tutelage of his mother, a classical piano teacher although he graduated with a degree in Pharmacy from Cairo University in 1996.

In 1989, he had begun his professional career, delving into various genres including pop, jazz, funk, and Latin music within Cairo’s local music scene. His talents led him to perform with esteemed ensembles and orchestras such as the Cairo Conservatory Orchestra, Cairo Symphony, and Cairo Opera Orchestra.

In 2000, his composition “Rainbows” earned him the Grand Prix at the Cairo International Song Festival, marking a significant milestone in his career. Amro’s collaborations with renowned international artists, including Theodosii Spassov, Han Bennink, Elvis Stanic, Trygve Seim, Zach Brock and many Arab stars like, Asala, Majda Al Rumi, Latifah, Angham, Samira Saeed and Naseer Shamma, have further enriched his musical journey.

In 2002, he founded the World Jazz Fusion group “Eftekasat,” where they produced three albums and performed at many major international festivals.

In 2009, Amro founded the Cairo International Jazz Festival and the Jazz Society of Egypt, showcasing his dedication to promoting jazz
